This weekend, I worked on getting CPR and First Aid certified. It was the most boring two hours I have spent on a computer. The modules/ missions are so fake looking, and they go by so slowly. I now know how to use a tourniquet and control bleeding. I understand how to do CPR on adults, children, and infants. You need to do 30 compression at a pace of 120 compressions per minute, followed by 2 rescue breaths.

Last Wednesday, there was a soccer game against Friendship. Our boys team looked awful, and ended up losing 6-0. It was really hot that day and a lot of the players were getting cramps. Zach Wampler had mustard in his bag, and drank it without even flinching. I have noticed that boys tend to get more cramps than girls. I am not sure if they don't drink enough water, or if there is something physically different.
Soccer has only had one practice since school started. That practice was indoors, and only included varsity players. No one had running shoes, and half of the kids were wearing vans, that had no arch support. The boys were struggling trying to play with a semi-weighted foam soccer ball. The soccer ball kept flying around the gym, and I got hit multiple times with the soccer ball in the corner.
Applying for college is tough. I want to major in kinesiology, but that is not offered at most schools. I love the program at University of Virginia, it's in the department of education, and is the only school that I have looked at that has kinesiology. However, it is a very challenging school to get into. I am also looking at University of South Carolina and UNC Charlotte which both have Exercise Science programs. I still have to write all the essays for the applications, and I am thinking of writing my personal statement and Common App essay about my experience in Sports Medicine at Apex.
